The image of BMW drivers has taken a battering after a recent survey from the UK’s largest extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com which suggested that husbands on the prowl and cheating are twice as likely to drive a BMW than any other brand of vehicle.
When the 640,000 members of the site voted, 19.21 percent of them drove a BMW.
The second most popular auto brand amongst philandering husbands is the Audi by 8.79 percent, followed by Mercedes 8.23 percent with Jaguar 6.59 percent in fourth and Land Rover 4.94 percent making it into the top five.
Now what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, with the largest slice of cheating wives 11.16 percent preferring BMWs as well. Maybe it’s the harmonics of the German brand that drives their owners to infidelity!
The survey also indicated which brands are least driven by active adulterers. If one wants a more faithful long-term companion then consider – Only 0.28 per cent of people on IllicitEncounters.com drive Renaults or SEATs while the MG brand is preferred by just 0.53 percent with Fiat and Chrysler favoured by just 0.55 percent of players.
Illicit Encounters spokesperson Rosie Freeman-Jones stated: “There is an intrinsic link between success and cheating. Successful people are often risk-takers, and have got to where they are by setting their standards high. However, these people are also less likely to settle for unsatisfying relationships or monotony – With this in mind, the fact that BMWs are the choice car of our users really doesn’t surprise me. Our membership demographic is typically middle-class, high-earning and high-achieving.”
