Olympiakos’ men’s water polo team has beat Vouliagmeni 8-5, taking out the title of Greek champions for 2018.
The teams came up against each other for the third time on Saturday at the Papastratio Kolymbitirio in Piraeus, with Vouliagmeni coming out in full force to lead 3-1.
But Olympiakos soon took the lead and stayed there, going on to win their sixth consecutive league title and 32nd title in the club’s history.
Vouliagmeni’s stand out player for the match was Marios Kapotsis who scored three goals for the side, while Olympiakos’ top scorers were Costas Mourikis, Alexandros Gounas and Paulo Obradovic, delivering two goals each.
It was the second major loss for Vouliagmeni to Olympiakos this month, with the reds’ women’s water polo team beating Vouliagmeni 9-6 to win the national championship on 15 May.
