A new funding stream for Multicultural organisation was announced by the the Victorian Government offering a total of $9.5 million in large and small grants to support projects commencing in the 2018-19 financial year.

The small grants will cover reqequests between $500 – $100,000 to be used for minor fitouts or upgrades to existing community facilities. For instance, a community group can apply for up to up to $10,000 towards the purchase or upgrade of depreciating assets such as fridges and microwaves.

The large grants will respond to rRequests between $100,001 – $750,000 will be considered for major upgrades of existing facilities or towards the construction of new facilities.

The Government of Victoria calls all culturally diverse community groups, organisations and regionally based associations to apply for the The Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund, provided they have a current Australian Business Number (ABN) and they are not-for-profit entities, registered under the Commonwealth Corporations Act 2001 or the Victorian Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.

Applications and expressions of interest can be submitted at any time until 11.59pm, Friday 22 February 2019, allowing organisations to undertake sufficient planning of their projects. To find out more about the program and eligibility, or make an application, visit multicultural.vic.gov.au
