A public lecture on the novels of Nikos Kazantzakis will be held next week to commemorate 55 years since the death of Kazantzakis.
The lecture titled “The superman and human transcendence in the novels of Nikos Kazantzakis”, held by the The Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (Melbourne Branch) will be delivered by Dimitris Gonis.
Mr Gonis is a student of Kazantzakis’ work and is currently a PhD student at La Trobe University.
The lecture will be in Greek with a summary in English. Extracts of Kazantzakis’ work will be read in English and Greek. Mr Gonis will answer questions in both languages.
The public lecture will be held at the Cretan House, 150 Nicholson Street, East Brunswick. Melway 30, (Plenty of free parking at the back of the building) on Monday 14 May at 6:30 pm. Everybody is welcome.
