The parties of Drasi and Re-Create Greece are to join forces for the upcoming elections of June 17, a decision announced by Drasi leader Stefanos Manos on social networking site Twitter late on Sunday.

This was confirmed through the same medium by Re-Create Greece a few minutes after, with a statement on their own account.

“Re-Create Greece and Drasi invite you to a press conference on Tuesday May 22, 13.00 at the Intercontinental hotel, in order for us to announce to you our decision to compete in the elections of June 17 as one party”.

The electional collaboration between the two parties puts a definite end to the rumors that had talked about the chance of Manos moving back to New Democracy and is yet another shift to occur on the conservative/right sided spectrum of the political landscape, since the impressive rise of Syriza on May 6.

The Alexis Tsipras led party, is now seen as the clear-cut opposition to Antonis Samaras and New Democracy, with polls projecting them running a very close race in the upcoming elections for the leading spot in the Greek parliament.
