Rising Greek star Elisavet Teltsidou won her first IJF World Judo Tour final, managing to cause an upset to former world number one Maria Portela at the Grand Prix of Antalya. Teltsidou used tsuri goshi to launch Brazil’s Masters Champion for a colossal ippon in the -70kg final. Greece had not won a gold in the competition for the last five years.
Teltsidou was buoyed from seventh-place in Tbilisi a week ago, however climbed to even greater heights by delivering gold for Greece with a sensational hip throw for ippon, earning a second medal for Greece on the second day of the event in Turkey.

The Greek athlete met with Grand Slam medallist Elvismar Rodriguez (VEN) by ippon in the first semi-final and world number 79 Sun Xiaoqian (CHN) in the second semifinal.
Dusseldorf Grand Slam medallist Miriam Butkereit (GER) received the first bronze medal, whereas the second bronze medal went to Judoka Rodriguez.
