Representing the views of citizens from more than 140 countries and areas, the 2019 Global Emotions Report measures life’s intangibles – feelings and emotions – that traditional economic indicators such as GDP were never intended to capture. The Gallup that sampled 150,000 people found that Greeks are the most stressed people in the world.
The poll found that 59 per cent of Greeks had responded positively to the question that asked them if they had “experienced a lot of stress yesterday”, putting Greece at the top of the chart for the third consecutive year.
Greece tops the list, followed by the Philippines, Tanzania and Albania.
The same poll asked respondents about their anger levels, and found Armenians topping the chart followed by Iraqis, Iranians and those of the Palestine.
The citizens with the most positive experiences were those of Paraquay, Panama, Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador, whereas those that experienced the greatest negativity were in Chad, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Iran.
