The Victorian Government has granted the Pallaconian Brotherhood “Leonidas” $20,000 as part of the government’s bid to support and maintain multicultural community groups. The brotherhood will use the $20,000 grant to replace old and defective heating and cooling systems at their headquarters in Brunswick.
This grant is part of the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Nicholas Kotsiras announcement of more than $500,000 in community infrastructure grants that will support 13 multicultural community organisations across Victoria, including the Pallaconian Brotherhood.
“The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to working with community organisations to preserve our unique multicultural legacy, and to develop and enhance community infrastructure,” Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Nicholas Kotsiras said.
The Cultural Precincts and Community Infrastructure Fund is a $12 million investment by the Coalition Government over four years to enhance cultural precincts and community facilities in Victoria, and secure the longevity of Victoria’s important community assets.
“These organisations, clubs and associations are the lifeblood of our multicultural community. They represent, unite and support their members, and contribute enormously to a strong, cohesive and engaged multicultural Victoria,” Mr Kotsiras said.
