Actor Takis Spyridakis passed away on 13 September after a long battle with cancer.
News of the death of the 61-year-old actor, director and screenwriter was met with sadness in the entertainment industry.
The well-known actor was born in Aegina in 1958. He studied at the Drama School of the National Theatre and appeared in several Greek films. In 1989 wrote and directed the short film Vera Cruz (20 mins. 35 mm) which won the Best Film Award at the Drama Short Film Festival, the Ministry of Culture State Award and in 1990 the EEC Jury Award of the French National Film Centre.

The younger generation loved him for his appearance in a TV commercial where he portrayed a stereotypical low division football president.
