The Greek army is calling upon Greek Australians born in 2002 who are interested in, or required to, complete their military service, to submit the necessary documents.

Applications should be submitted in the first quarter of 2020, from 2 January until 31 March.

The Greek Consulate General in Melbourne has advised that those interested make contact and book an appointment with the Conscription Department.

During their appointment, interested parties must provide original or clear photocopies of the following:

  1. A Greek ID card or Greek passport;
  2. Tax file number;
  3. Social security number. If not applicable, formal proof of identity.

Those who have serious health issues are required to submit a relevant medical certificate, clearly outlining their condition.

When submitting documents, an email address must also be provided.

Those who fail to comply with these obligations are subject to administrative penalties.
