Melbourne Victory’s coach Ange Postecoglou and assistant coach Kevin Muscat have been forced to make some radical reshuffles in their team before Friday’s match against Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park. This comes as the team faces injury and suspension losses. One of those is their captain and centre-half Adrian Leijer, who is out after receiving a yellow card in the derby win over Melbourne Heart.
Most of their experienced players are out so Victory is banking on the younger generation to step up on Friday night. And with Postecoglou on leave, Muscat will be at the helm of this experimental plan.
One of the more radical reshuffles is that of placing Victory’s Leigh Broxham to tackle the larger than life Emile Heskey. Broxham, a mere 169 centimetres, is set to play alongside Nick Ansell, a teenager with just two games behind him.
