It will come as a sigh of relief for many who have had to deal with Greek red tape because as of next month almost all documents needed by citizens will be available electronically, the Interior Minister of Greece, Takis Theodorikakos has promised.

Speaking on SKAI Radio, and as reported by the National Herald, the minister said that it would be possible for private citizens to receive the supporting documents electronically but so could public sector services without needing to make an application for them, if this was deemed necessary.

“This is a very critical and important upgrade,” said Mr Theodorikakos.

So there are now requirements and challenges on an institutional level as well.”
