Greek football giants Olympiacos are up against a potential relegation to the Super League 2 after a case for their 2015 match against Atromitos (which they won 2-1) was recently re-opened.
The red-and-whites have had a magnificent season so far, both domestically and internationally, as they stand at the top of the Greek Super League 14 points clear of their main rivals PAOK, while also having qualified to the round of 16 of the Europa League, having already dashed the hopes of heavy title contenders Arsenal.
But these charges could come to put a halt to all of that as the club appears to be in violation of Article 27 of the Code Of Conduct of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO).

The investigation that was held at the time saw 15 people and the two clubs being accused of ‘fixing the result of a match for betting purposes’, yet no final verdict was ever made.
Among those 15 individuals was Olympiacos main shareholder Evangelos Marinakis, who could be fined with over two-and-a-half million Euros and a lifetime ban from all sporting events, Atromitos owner Giorgos Spanos, the former EPO president Giorgos Sarris and vice-president Aristidis Stathopoulos, former Atromitos manager Ricardo Sa Pinto, Atromitos technical director Giannis Angelopoulos, six referees and several other former members of the EPO.
The Piraeus club won the game in question 2-1 while also going on to win the league in Greece that season, as Atromitos were able to advance to the Super League play-offs.
According to Greek media, this is just one of several Greek football matches that are being revisited for similar match fixing scandal accusations.
