Alex Anagnostou, 41, of Mill Park is one of three that have been charged with drug trafficking, conspiracy to kidnap and drug use following a police raid last week.
Police had been surveying amphetamine trafficking in the city’s north prior to arresting the men in Greensborough over an abduction attempt.
It is believed the alleged kidnapping plot was devised as payback for a previous theft.
Anthony Giacominato, 37, from South Morang, is accused of being one of Melbourne’s major amphetamines dealers, with associates Aaron Carter, 29, and Anagnostou.
Two others were arrested, but were released pending further police investigation.
Detective Inspector Richard Read said a couple of the suspects questioned by police had links to organised motorcycle groups, but that was unrelated to the alleged offences.
