A staggering 33,000 tickets were sold for the Liverpool vs Melbourne Victory friendly, 33 minutes after tickets went on sale.

All pre-sale and general admission tickets have sold out, and only MCC member tickets remain.

Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Richard Wilson, said the unprecedented ticket sales were staggering but expected.

“I don’t think anyone expected tickets to sell-out so quickly, but considering the enormous number of fans Liverpool has globally, we’re not entirely surprised and it’s a great result for all concerned,” he added.

Melbourne Victory play Liverpool FC on July 24, four days after the Manchester United A-League All Stars game.
