There have been 116 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours and 15 deaths.
The figure is the lowest rise in infections in seven weeks, and the lowest figure since 5 July when 67 cases were reported.
The deaths recorded this morning bring the total number of deaths to 430 in Victoria and 517 nationwide.
Neos Kosmos reported yesterday that at least 84 Greek Melburnians were amongst the state’s tally as of Sunday.
Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton had said on Sunday that the state’s figures could fall below 150 this week as stage four lockdown in Melbourne is beginning to show results.

On Sunday, the new cases rose to more than 200, however Mr Sutton had said that we would not see 300 and 400 new cases in the state. He also said that stage four restrictions would not be lifted until community transmission is eradicated.
Victorians have another three weeks of stage four restrictions that were due to end on 13 September.
