Nominations are open for this year’s Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence for individuals and organisations that have played an important role in strengthening muliticulturalism in the state.

On Monday (31 August), Victoria’s Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ros Spence opened the nominations for the awards which celebrate the state’s champions of diversity and those who have given support to Victorians from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and the state government have added seven new categories to this year’s awards to reflect the many fields in which cultural diversity is being embraced within the state.

These will include the Community Response and Recovery Category to honour the efforts of those who helped during the bushfires earlier this year or during the COVID-19 pandemic.
