Victoria confirmed 14 new cases of coronavirus on Friday with another eight people losing their lives. This brings the death toll from the virus to 778 in Victoria. The rolling average is 25.1 which raises hope that Melbourne may move to eased restrictions at the end of the month as the state government had said metropolitan Melbourne would move to the second step of the roadmap towards reopening when the average case rate was at 30-50 cases per fortnight.
Today, Victoria’s Premier Daniel Andrews is facing grilling about the use of private security guards at the state’s hotel quarantine inquiry.
