Last week, Belmore United and the Earlwood Wanderers were a bit star struck, as six of Sydney FC’s greats joined them for a special training session over two nights.

Rhyan Grant, Peter Triantis, Hagi Gligor, Vedran Janjetovic, Mitchell Mallia and Matt Jurman showed their A-League skills to the juniors, while participating in small sided games and signing memorabilia.

“This is what football is about,” said Earlwood’s club spokesperson, Jim Tatsis.

“Building a grassroots community that relates to the pathways kids may choose to follow, whether its State League, A-League, Young and senior Socceroos for their next move in football, these visits are essential for allowing young aspirational players to dream of what might be.”
