Greece confirmed another 3,316 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, and 50 deaths which bring the pandemic’s toll to 959 in Greece (with an average age of 80 years).

There were 24 new cases identified at entry points to the country, according to data of the National Public Health Organization (EODY) on Thursday.

Northern Greece, specifically the city of Thessaloniki, has 828 infections, while Attica – where Athens is located –  trails with 756.

There are currently 310 people intubated. The average age of those on ventilators is 65 years of which 82.9 per cent have underlying conditions or are aged 70 or more and 88 are women. There have been 353 people discharged from ICU’s since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

The total infections confirmed in Greece since the start of the pandemic is 66,637.

Greece has been in lockdown since last Saturday and the imposition of a 9pm-5am night-time curfew begins on 13 February.
