Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis presided a virtual meeting with key ministers yesterday, Saturday to decide a government plan for the transport, storing and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccines in Greece.

Aside from discussing how to best inform the public regarding the availability of vaccines, the meeting focused on the method of administration.

The Prime Minister said that the entire procedure will be managed through a digital platform. Appointments at vaccination centres will be booked online.

“We will book both appointments from the beginning because the vaccine has two doses and we will propose them to citizens,” he said, adding that Vaccinations can begin immediately after official approval by the European Union.

In addition to the PM’s statements, Digital Policy Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis explained further changes that are to take place , such as the customisation of call centres and receptions for those wanting to register in person.

According to the press conference the digital platform will be extremely user-friendly.
