1,194 new coronavirus cases recorded in Greece overnight

There were 68 fatalities from Friday afternoon till Saturday 3pm

The most recent numbers announced by Greek health authorities confirm 1,194 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours from 3pm on Friday till 3pm on Saturday.

The total number of deaths has also climbed to 3,540 with 68 more coronavirus related fatalities added to the toll over this period.

Overall, Greece has had 123,842 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

The patients that are on ventilators in ICU remain 577.

Meanwhile, the majority of the new cases are community transmissions. Of the 1,194 new positive results 256 were found in Athens region, 248 in Thessaloniki and surrounding areas, 98 in Larissa and the rest between northern and central Greece.
