A 24-year-old Melbourne man and a 49-year-old Perth woman have been arrested by police after escaping hotel quarantine.
The man was discovered having left his room without permission while the woman was found in a hospital. They are currently both in police custody awaiting charges.
Meanwhile, Victoria has recorded its 58th consecutive day without community transmission.
There was only one COVID-19 case detected in a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.
At the moment there are 10 active cases of the virus in Victoria, all of which in self-isolation or hotel-quarantine.
Finally, the low positive coronavirus test result that was recorded yesterday at the Royal Melbourne Hospital has been rejected as a false positive after thorough review.
No new locally acquired cases have been recorded.
