Lexi School of Modern Greek’s dynamic team of dedicated teachers are passionate about maintaining Greek language in the community. Through an interactive thematic approach and modern teaching methodologies, the school offers an engaging and stimulating classroom environment for pre-school, primary and secondary students.
They strive to instill a genuine love and sense of pride for the Greek language and culture and to strengthen their connection with their students’ heritage, especially this year with the bicentennial celebrations of Greece’s independence.
Inspired by their own children to create a stimulating learning environment for the introduction of Greek language classes, Lexi School of Modern Greek established their unique pre-school Zouzounia Program in 2007. Classes run in Moonee Ponds, Richmond, Preston and Oakleigh. Through stories, craft, games, song and dance, toddlers and pre-schoolers participate in fun educational activities together with their parents or grandparents, making new friendships while developing strong foundations for Greek language learning.
2020 was a difficult year, however through the challenges faced, the school community grew closer and stronger. Teachers and parents worked together to support, engage and motivate our students. Remote learning has given the school further insight into how to connect with their students and enable them to feel a sense of joy, confidence and achievement.
