Bernie Taft (1918-2013), a leading figure of the Australian left and former joint national secretary of the Communist Party of Australia, who passed away a few weeks ago, will be honoured on Sunday at a memorial service, at 11:00 am, at the Darebin Arts & Entertainment Center, on the Corner of St Georges Rd & Bell St. in Preston.
Bernie Taft was a friend of the Greek community and a close ally of the local Committee for the Restoration of Democracy in Greece, during the period of the military junta (1967-1974).
