PAOK lost its Champions League dreams when it failed to secure a home win in a group rematch against FC Shalke, and failed again against newly promoted Panaitolikos 0-2.
It will have a chance to reap back some points and some luck next Monday, when the team goes up against promoted Panionios. They’re up against Veria tomorrow, who have had better luck in the opening rounds, with a win and a draw already under their belt. They currently sit second on the ladder.
Title defenders Olympiakos have had a great start to the season, securing another win this week and standing on the top of the ladder at 6 points.
Up against Antromitos on Sunday, Olympiakos came from behind to manage a 2-1 win, with Javier Saviola netting his first goal for the Piraeus team.
Stefano Napoleoni gave Atromitos the lead in the 47th and David Fuster equalized in the 51st for the defending champion.
Newcomer Kalloni notched its first ever win in the top flight, 2-0 at Aris, and Platanias drew 1-1 at Asteras.
Meanwhile, Cyprus is gearing up for their season start this week, with the First League Phase A to open tomorrow with Anorthosis up against Omonia Nicosia.
