In late 2012, Nikos Andronicos and Damien Timms – heading the TippyTappy Sports commentary team – travelled to Port Vila to cover the first ever rugby league international between Vanuatu and Greece.
The Sydney sports comedy duo weren’t expecting much of a spot among the huge media throng. Little did they realise when they go there, they would be the only media.
The resulting 45 minute documentary, A LapLap Odyssey records the commentary teamʼs hilarious and heartwarming experience in the Pacific capital they wing one of the biggest commentating gig of their lives.
The TippyTappySports live call of the match that was broadcast on internet radio went on to attract thousands of listeners worldwide.
Nikos Andronicos described the whole experience like being the rugby equivalent of Roy & HG.
