Marcos Baghdatis has suffered a loss in round one of the Kremlin Cup in Russia.
In one hour and 46 minutes, he fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to Russian Evgeny Donskoy.
He will look towards gaining back momentum next week at the Swiss Indoors Basel, where he was runner-up on his 2005 debut, losing to Fernando Gonzalez.
He is currently ranked 75 in the ATP World rankings.
