The date for submissions to the Greek Australian Cultural League’s (GACL) Literary Competition and for its periodical Antipodes has been extended to Friday, 23 July.
The literary competition comprises of works written in Greek or English by writers residing in Australia who are over 18 years of age. The competition categories are Poetry and Short Story.
The winning entries in each category in each language will be published in the GACL’s annual periodical Antipodes.
The announcement of the competition winners will take place at a special function in October that will incorporate the launch of the Antipodes at the Panarcadian Association “O Kolokotronis”, Victoria Street in North Melbourne.
You will need to complete a literary competition registration form that can be downloaded from the GACL website (www.gacl.com.au). The site will also provide additional information on the rules of the competition.

For those who want to submit to this year’s Antipodes periodical; works such as short stories, studies, essays, book reviews and other literary and visual art works will be considered in English and Greek.
As always, submissions must be of original works that have not been published or promoted in other publications.
Poems must be no more than 100 verses (lines), short stories and essays: 2,000 words, book reviews and other reviews (exhibitions, music, plays, films) must not exceed 1,000 words.
