SMFC ladies celebrated an emphatic victory on Saturday against the Bergers at Lakeside Stadium in the NPL Women’s round of 13.

South Melbourne managed a 7-0 win, with Melina Ayres scoring three of the goals.

Lucy Johnson, Aimee Medwin, Kat Goff and Akeisha Sandhu also found the back of the net.

But fans have reported the derby was filled with highlights, with the Heidelberg United women’s team exhibiting team spirit and fighting till the end.

FC Bulleen Lions against Bayside United FC was the next match for the round of 13 expected to take place Sunday night.
