After a week’s hiatus thanks to international duty, round 12 of the Super League is back with some interesting plays. Olympiakos has proven to be unbeatable, stretching its lead to six points after it downed main contender PAOK 4-0 at home.

There is much to say about Costas Mitroglou – as the league’s top goal scorer and an integral part in Greece’s qualification to Brazil, he’s proving to be a much better investment than their marquee man, Javier Saviola. They take on Panthrakikos this Sunday, a team that has been great in defence but struggled to get past draws to pick up points. They have the home advantage this time, and with many Olympiakos players still overcoming the international duty, they might have a chance.

PAOK take on second last Aris at home, an easy win for the Thessaloniki club and a good chance for them to bridge the points gap between Olympiakos.

Panathinaikos takes on PAS Giannina who came off a 2-1 win against OFI last round. Panathinaikos also came off a solid 2-0 win against Aris, but this round won’t be as easy, with both teams fielding strong sides. Despite having the league’s second top goal scorer, Xanthi hasn’t been able to remain consistent. They take on Panaitolikos on Monday, hoping for a win to get them out of their draw loss cycle. Panaitolikos has had a much better season till now, sitting fifth on the ladder.
