“My mother was an angel. All who knew her loved her,” Maria, the daughter of Helen Boukouvalas, told Neos Kosmos.

Characterised as a giving woman, with goodness in her soul, Ms Boukouvalas died on Wednesday, 18 August, when struck by a truck whilst walking.

Survived by her mother, husband, children, grandchildren and all those who knew the 63-year-old, spoke of her as “a rock”.

“She was the rock, soul, heart of our family,” her grieving daughter said.

“The void we are left with is huge. We are all shattered and in denial that our mother is no longer alive.”

Helen Boukouvalas from Kalamata was born in Melbourne. She had her own child care centre in Dandenong before she retired.

Her funeral will take place in St Dimitrios Church, Windsor, in the presence of just 10 people due to COVID-19 restrictions.
