Latest federal government figures show more than half of eligible Australians aged over 16 are now fully vaccinated after a record week of vaccinations across the country.
More than 26 million doses have been administered across the country now, and more than half (50.15 per cent) of people aged 16 and up are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile Victoria has recorded 733 new local COVID-19 cases and one more death.
More than 41,000 vaccines doses were also administered.
The figure comes after experts warned Victorians should brace for daily COVID-19 case numbers of 1000 or more as the state struggles to contain the Delta outbreak.
NSW records 1043 new local cases and 11 deaths
NSW has reported 1043 new local coronavirus cases, as well as the deaths of 11 people from the virus.
The deaths included a man in his 50s from Broken Hill, in the state’s west. He died at Broken Hill Base Hospital, was a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and was not vaccinated. NSW Health said in a statement that the man had underlying medical conditions.
