Celtic striker, Georgios Samaras, is the top target for Hull City boss Steve Bruce, as the January window approaches, the Daily Mail reported.
Bruce has shown the interest in the Greek international before, while he was Sunderland manager, and now the 52-year-old is back in for Samaras, as he looks to shore up his squad for the coming months.
The Tigers sit in 12th position, and continue to be the talking point of English football due to their possible name change.
The 28 year-old is out of contract in the summer so would command a cut-price fee, as Bruce looks to top-up his squad with two new strikers on a limited budget.
The Tigers manager has previously expressed his want for his strikers to be more clinical in front of goal. Samaras, who doesn’t have the best strike rate – 45 goals in 183 appearances for Celtic spanning over five years – has impressed Bruce against European opposition.
In the meantime, name of Greek international has also appeared as a shock transfer target for big-spending MLS side Toronto FC.
The ambitious Canadian side Toronto FC has Samaras as one of three main summer transfer targets, according to reports in North America.
Samaras would be free to discuss terms with Toronto and Hull City from the start of next month.
