As Victoria hit the 80 percent mark for fully vaccinated people in the state, so were key restrictions lifted from 6pm on Friday evening.

For the first time in a long while, travel between Melbourne and the rest of the state is now allowed. Masks are no longer required to be worn in open spaces, but will be needed where social distancing is not possible.

You can now entertain up to 10 people, including dependents, in your home until the vaccination level reaches 90 percent. The indoor limit will then increase to 30 people when vaccinations levels reach 80 percent for the 12-years-plus group.

Gatherings of up to 30 people are allowed out of doors.

In outdoor settings, social distancing limitations remain at one person per square metre with a cap of 500 people.

On-site inspections of properties are once again allowed, as are on-site property auctions

In the case of large entertainment venues, cinemas and theatres will be able to operate at 75 percent of capacity and at a maximum of one person per four square metres up to 1,000 people.

In non-seated indoor entertainment venues, the maximum of one person per four square metres applies with no cap on the number of patrons.

For outdoor entertainment venues, such as stadiums, tourist attractions and zoos, a maximum of one person every two square metres is permitted. The cap for such venues is set at 5,000 people.

The Chief Health Officer may grant approval for larger gatherings at important events and venues that come under the Public Events Framework.

Schools are now open to face-to-face learning in the classroom with additional safety measures in place. Fully vaccinated students can return to adult-education classes. Early childhood education and care is open. However, events that host a large number of children may not operate to capacity while vaccines continue to be unavailable to children.

People can return to work and can go into offices and work places if they are fully vaccinated.
