It was an agonizing morning for a businessman in Lemnos when he realised he had just thrown away 100,000 euros in the bin!
In a shock, the man from Lemnos, immediately called the municipality’s cleaning service for help when he realised what he had done.
Apparently, in a moment of distraction, he thought the bags he was holding was rubbish, as he dropped them in the bin, opposite his shop, he said to the local media, limnosreport.gr.
Some of the municipality’s garbage trucks were already on their way to the landfill to dispose of the day’s bin collection, when they were alerted.
The Lemnian lived moments of agony until the truck carrying his “precious rubbish” was located and its driver instructed to return the port of Aghios Nikolaoas in Myrina, where he was waiting.
The bags with the money were found intact amongst the the bags of rubbish emptied across the town.
