Victoria recorded 797 new local COVID-19 cases from 53,527 test results received yesterday. In addition to the new cases, there were eight deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 424 people in the current Delta outbreak.

There are currently 44 people on ventilators from 72 in intensive care and 394 in hospitals in Victoria.

There are currently protestors, who slept on the steps outside the Victorian Parliament, as a sign of protest against the state government’s proposed pandemic bill and vaccine mandates. They vowed to continue their camp-out, despite the cold weather this week.

The protests are part of the 24-hour demonstrative action against the government’s proposed new pandemic laws and vaccine mandates.
