Ten Greek-owned businesses have been recognised at the St George Local Business Awards this year in Sydney.

The St George Business Awards, which are hosted by Precedent Productions, acknowledge the drive and dedication required to succeed in business and recognises the best in local industry across over 25 categories.

The Good Filo in Ramsgate owned by Nick and Martine Delaveris won in the ‘Outstanding Bakery / Cake Business’ category having received numerous positive reviews for their fresh handmade sweets, cakes and pastries.

In the ‘Outstanding Business Services’ category, Sydney’s Work It! With Kathy G also came first among several beauty businesses.

The owner, Kathy Goussis, provides an eyelash extensions service which has flourished in the past year.

Another lady, set to make every client look and feel beautiful, Vicky Zafiropoulos from Hairem Hairdressing, was crowned best ‘Hairdresser’.

Meanwhile, the iconic Gyradiko Bexley, a family run business managed by Kosta Giannakaros established in 2014 also won in its category of ‘Outstanding Fast Food / Takeaway’.

George and Pav Andreou from Lugarno Seafood were recognised for the third time in a row for best ‘Restaurant – Fine Dining’.

The hospitality categories also had some winners of Hellenic background.

Stephenie Tziomakis from Meeting Morgan won ‘Outstanding Cafe’, while Denise and Chris Kouroupakis from Kogarah Town Centre Deli won ‘Oustanding Delicatessen/Gourmet Food’.

Diana Valsamis and George Christodoulou, from The Kyle Bay on Georges River won the ‘Most Outstanding Specialised Business’ Award.

Raine & Horne Sans Souci won ‘Outstanding Real Estate Agency’ and Maria Fellas from Emoda Couture won ‘Specialised Retail Business’.

Finally, JDC Automotive in Lugarno came first in the ‘Automotive Services’ category.
