The number of new coronavirus diagnoses has dropped by 8 per cent in Greece, health committee member and doctor Gkikas Magiorkinis said during a regular briefing on Thursday.
In addition, the number of deaths from the virus has also dropped, but the pressure on the National Health System – particularly on ICUs – remains high.
“There is a slight easing of the number of patients in ICUs, as well as improvements in other indicators,” Magiorkinis said.
“The small improvement in admissions to hospitals is however also accompanied by a slight drop in discharges, mostly related to patients in regular beds,” he noted.
Greece confirmed 19,154 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 64 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Thursday.
There were also 93 deaths recorded, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 24,507, while a total of 516 patients are on ventilators in hospitals.
