The Thessalonians maximised their home ground advantage by beating the Belgians 1-0 in Thessaloniki to earn a one-goal lead, vastly improving their odds of progressing past the Round of 16 as they head to Belgium for the reverse fixture next week.
PAOK found the match’s only goal after midfielder Jasmin Kurtic produced another set-piece goal to add to his season tally, this time releasing a clever low free kick which deflected off a Gent defender and into the back of the net (58′).
Olympiacos aims for revenge against Aris in fiery rematch
One week out from their devastating loss which ended their dreams of an unbeaten league season, Olympiacos has the opportunity to exact vengeance against the same team which squandered it: Aris.
The Piraeus giants host the Thessalonians in the Super League’s first round of the play-offs and they will be sure to show no mercy to the visitors as they aim to make the “Georgios Karaiskakis” ground the sight of retribution.

Panathinaikos collides at home with AEK in the first of many derbies to appear in the coming weeks and both teams will be desperate for three points to start the play-offs strongly.
Enosi will hope to develop a wider gap between themselves and the pack behind them, with a victory over the Greens a positive start.
The “Trifylli” needs no further motivation to win than drawing closer to Aris and AEK as they fight to secure a European qualifying place.
PAOK plays Giannina at home with the Epirotans beaming with joy after their five-points deduction was overturned, allowing them to enter the top six at the expense of OFI.
The Double-headed eagle of the North will likewise be in high spirits after their European success on Friday which should keep them energised for this weekend.
