Earlier this week the Antetokounmpo brothers basketballers Giannis, Thanasis, Kostas and Alex donated a house in Athens worth €100,000 which boasts a view of the Acropolis as a prize for a competition.
The prize which was announced in a live video on the brothers’ shared Instagram account, Antetokounbros, was for a competition in which 600,000 people took part. To qualify for the prize participants had to “like” a post on Instagram and follow the accounts of the Antetokounmpo brothers.
The competition was organised with Greek Home and a real estate company.
The Greek-Nigerian brothers are known not only for their sporting exploits but for their community spirit. Last year as the fires raged during the Greek summer, the brothers donated half their earnings from their e-shop to victims of the fires.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis in conjunction with a sports betting firm paid for the short-term accommodation at five Athens hotels for people made homeless by the fires. He also donates money, food and time to help the homeless community in Milwaukee.
The brothers, three of whom play in the National Basketball Association all donate to causes in the United States where they now live.
