A rare albino kangaroo was born in the outskirts of Attika, Greece on Lakkagini farm which belongs to renowned obstetrician-gynecologist and IVF specialist Konstantinos Pantos.
It’s a rare kangaroo which managed to survive the devastating fires last August, and lives on the farm with deer, lamas and other animals that found shelter there thanks to the efforts of Dr Pantos and his employees.
The Greek kangaroo is rather playful often ‘performing’ for small children that come close to the fence.
“The kangaroo had just been born when the fires started and we thankfully managed to protect both the kangaroo and all the other animals we are hosting. When people see it they are amazed, even though a lot of people don’t even know what animal it is,” Mr Pantos told Neos Kosmos.

“Even in Australia, white kangaroos are rare.”
In 2021, two more albino kangaroos were born in the United States and Russia respectfully. The owner of Animal Adventure Park in New York had told the media it was the first time he’d ever seen a white kangaroo. A similar reaction followed the birth of the white joey at the Regina Zoo in Kazan, Russia.
“It is one of eight white kangaroos that exist in the world,” Dr Pantos added.
“Staff calls him “mamakia” (mummy’s boy) as he’s constantly next to his mum and even though he’s old enough to be alone he is still struggling to leave her and mingle with the other roos.
