It all started in 1986, when she was sent as a Neos Kosmos journalist to the then library on Latrobe Street, to research how Anglo newspapers reacted to and reported on the Cyprus invasion by Turkey from 1974 to the time the research began.

That was her first feature as a journalist and the result vindicated her. From there on, she developed an interest in Community affairs and politics delving into more topics, immigration, Antipodes, Bonegilla, Anzac history, Greek evening schools, education, ships arriving in Australia with Cyprus always being a point of interest.

Dedicated to supporting her homeland, she dedicated a big part of her work to covering historical Cyprus milestones, commemorative events, Cypriot Clubs and community organisations as well as raising awareness on the ongoing issues that have risen for the island of Aphrodite and its people since the invasion 48 years ago.

It is for this body of work that Cyprus President Nikos Anastasiadis awarded her with an honorary plaque via Deputy Minister of Shipping Vasileios Dimitriadis who is currently in Australia to attend events commemorating the Cyprus Invasion.
