Tributes are pouring in following news of the death in Greece of Harry “Digger” Lambley, the 23-year-old son of Northern Territory independent politician and former deputy chief minister and treasurer Robyn Lambley.
Mr Lambley was holidaying in Greece with friends from Alice Springs, his mother is the member for Araluen in Alice Springs, when the fatal accident on a motorcycle took place on Wednesday. It is believed that an Alice Springs man was also injured in the crash.
Ms Lambley told NT News that her son “bought fund and joy to the world”.
“Territory born and bred, Harry lives and loved in his story 23 years. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends,” Ms Lambley said.
A friend, John Chisholm wrote: “We love you Harry, make everyone up there smile like you did for us.
“Cricket’s not going to be the same without you my little bro, thank you for the memories that I’ll cherish till we meet again. ”
Alice Springs MLA Bill Yan said Mr Lambley’s death was an “absolute tragedy” and “a loss for the the entire Central Australian community. Harry was a good Central Australian who’ll be sorely missed”.
