Nominations are open for the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) Excellence Awards 2022 and you will have until 5pm on15 September to submit your candidates.
The awards will be presented at the Plaza Ballroom on Collins Street on Friday, 11 November starting at 7pm.
The 2022 HACCI Awards, now in their 36th year, will also provide an opportunity to commemorate HACCI’s history, celebrate outstanding achievement in our community and honour the 200th anniversary of the Hellenic Revolution.
A black-tie event, the evening will also feature authentic Greek entertainment, music and dancing as well as an opulent three-course menu, premium Greek wines and desserts.
The awards categories are open to all Hellenic Australians include:
The Bank of Sydney Business Award which is open to all businesses with a Hellenic-Australian connection and meet one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in their field; A well-known brand; recognised by peers, relevant industry association or other independent body; Recognised leader within its industry for product /service quality.
The Professional Services Award which is open to professional services or the academic sector and met one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence and leadership in their field; Made a contribution to the learning/thought leadership within their profession; Recognised or awarded in their field by their peers or industry or customers or other independent body; and Outstanding involvement in entrepreneurship.
The Community Service Award: for those meeting one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in the community sector; Contributed significantly to the community through their time, actions, talents and dedication and passion for making a difference; Acknowledged for their leadership in the community sector; role model for compassion, service and helping others; Mentor of future generations to community work.
The Chris Saristavros Young Achievers award for Hellenic Australians who are between 18 and35 years of age who meet one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in their field; Demonstrated outstanding achievement in their field; Acknowledged for their contributions to and achievements in their field of endeavour; Showcased clear aspirations, drive and commitment to succeed in their chosen field; Serve as a role model for others.
The Sport Award: Demonstrated excellence in sports; Made an outstanding achievement in a sport and/or significant contribution to sport in Australia and/or internationally; Earned the respect and recognition of peers, sporting bodies, and the public; Acknowledged as a leader in their sport/leading contributor in sport; Made a positive impact on sport and the Hellenic Australian/ international community.
The Woman of Influence Award is open to all Hellenic-Australian women who can one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in their field; Committed to increasing the visibility of women’s leadership in Australia and throughout the diaspora; Encouraging other women in her industry and championing change in her workplace, her community or among her peers; Uses her platform, skills, position and ability to help change the status quo to a more equal, more diverse and vibrant society; Makes outstanding contributions to her industry.
The Spiro Stamoulis Lifetime Achievement Award for Hellenic Australians meeting one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in their field; Made a significant contribution to the promotion of Hellenism or Hellenic values to the broader community over their lifetime.
The Innovation Award is open to businesses, individuals or leaders meeting one or more of the following criteria: Demonstrated excellence in innovation; Made significant contributions to their industry through the introduction or improvement of an idea, method, technology, process or application; Developed effective solutions to challenging social and/or environmental issues in support of social and/or environmental progress; Outstanding involvement in entrepreneurship.
