The Deakin Edge Theatre at Melbourne’s Federation Square will be the venue for Who Do We Think We Are, a show that celebrates the diversity represented by members of U3A (University of the Third Age) Melbourne City.
The show which draws on “personal stories from home and away” will range from First Nations tales through to the arrival of the First Fleet, convicts and early settlers to the arrival in Australia of refugees during the 20th Century.
Producer Merilyn Harris said the production features “collection of personal stories with universal themes of love and war, oppression and adventure, with surprises and misunderstandings along the way, all helping to us to learn more about each other and the the society in which we live”.
The event which is part of Victoria Seniors Week Festival, will start at 5.30pm on 6 October at the Deakin Edge Theatre at Federation Square Melbourne.
