The Sky Blues and the Bulls are set for battle in the first game between two Sydney sides, as each looks to build some early momentum.

Macarthur hosts the blockbuster fixture which headlines the A-League’s fourth round in a bid to keep their unbeaten start intact.

Melbourne City faces Wellington Phoenix as they look to go four wins from four while their closest rivals on the ladder, Western Sydney, clash with an in-form Arthur Papas’ Newcastle outfit that has won its opening two matches.

Melbourne Victory is aiming to recover from last week’s derby loss when they play Brisbane Roar and Western United travels to contest with Central Coast, with both searching for a maiden win this season.

Adelaide United is also fighting for a debut victory this season when they go up against a Perth Glory side hot off a debut success last weekend.

Western Sydney and Newcastle will fight on Friday night in a tough match between two sides in great spirits.

Each has yet to taste defeat this season, making for a highly anticipating affair which will test both clubs’ strength.

Melbourne Victory travels to play Brisbane on Saturday afternoon in a bid to stop their losing run from extending any further.

Victory manager Tony Popovic is hoping that his team will be able to build on their impressive outing against City last weekend without making the small errors that is making them drop points.

“A week is always a long time in football. We’ve got to back up that performance and take out those little mistakes that are costing us,” Mr Popovic said to media following last round’s game.

Western United goes up to Gosford as they prepare to challenge Central Coast for their first three points this term.

Both sides are currently occupying the bottom two places, making a win even more of a priority for each respective outfit.

Macarthur hosts Sydney FC at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night and they will have to be wary with their opponents who have won both of the clashes they have had at that ground.

Bulls fans will hope that a shock midweek visit from former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be enough to get their team ready to claim maximum points.

“We’re looking for a little bit of a pick-us-up – not that we’re in a bad spot – but they don’t come much bigger than Sir Alex being here, and I’m very lucky and privileged that I still have that relationship with him,” Macarthur coach Dwight Yorke said to media regarding his former coach’s visit.

Adelaide United hopes to deliver a maiden win this campaign in their first game in front of their home supporters on Sunday afternoon against a Perth side that is fresh off a victory last matchday.

The Reds have been winless thus far but, after three straight games on the road, they will aim to break this streak as they play at Coopers Stadium for the first time this season.

Melbourne City clashes will Wellington in the final contest of the weekend and the league leaders are looking to continue their impressive start which has made them the team to beat already.
