Panathinaikos secured a point from the jaws of defeat with a late penalty against rivals Olympiacos, though the result was enough to bring their perfect winning start to a halt.

The “Trifylli” drew 1-1 with the Piraeus club at “Leoforos” Stadium on Monday morning (AEDT) in the headline game of the Greek Super League’s 11th round.

It was an intense affair which took 84 minutes to spring to life after winger Pep Biel released a strike into the bottom right, giving the Red and Whites what they thought to be the winner.

The Greens were handed the ultimate lifeline when they were awarded a penalty deep into injury time, with striker Andraz Sporar coolly smashing it into the top right (90+13′).

AEK (2nd) failed to capitalise on Panathinaikos dropping points as they too drew 1-1 in their away fixture with Asteras Tripolis.

Enosi took the lead through winger Nordin Amrabat, who deposited his spot-kick into the bottom left (52′), but the hosts soon equalised via a strike from forward Crespi (58′).

Neither Panetolikos nor Levadiakos was able to find a winning goal as they played out a 0-0 stalemate in Agrinio.

A terrific opening ten minutes guided PAOK to a 2-0 victory over Giannina at “Toumba” Stadium on Sunday morning.

The Thessaloniki outfit went ahead after centre half Sverrir Ingason headed the ball into the top right from a free kick (8′) and his teammate, Stefan Schwab, converted his penalty into the bottom left just two minutes later.

Aris was forced to settle for a goalless draw in their away contest with Atromitos.

Volos came from behind twice to earn a point in their 2-2 away result against Lamia.

The Fthiotida side pulled in front through a long shot into the bottom left by midfielder Tomas de Vincenti (10′), but playmaker Paolo Fernandes equalised with a brilliant effort from range into the top right (38′).

Lamia restored their lead just one minute later, with winger Cristopher Nunez tapping the ball in from close range, before Volos midfielder Jean Barrientos scored the match’s final goal with an effort from the edge of the box that sailed into the top left corner (56′).

A brace from striker Vasilios Mantzis helped Ionikos to their first win of the campaign, downing OFI 0-2 in Crete.

The Nikaia side took the lead in the 56th minute when Mantzis headed in a cross from teammate Maximiliano Lovera, and the forward bagged his second with a finish into the bottom right after his initial effort was blocked (84′).
