After three successful festivals, the Piers Festival is looking for input to ensure that the 2015 festival is bigger than ever before. Multicultural Arts Victoria organised a community consultation gathering to discuss ways to improve the festival for the coming years this week and is open to suggestions.
The Piers Festival is designed to celebrate Victoria’s rich migration history and cultural diversity as part of Melbourne’s overall program of Australia Day activities. With close to ten thousand people from diverse cultural backgrounds coming along to join the celebrations held at Port Melbourne’s Piers precinct, the Piers Festival has become an annual highlight and a significant occasion for reflecting on our collective migration stories.
