Panathinaikos have started the second half of the regular season on the back foot after a draw against current wooden spooners Ionikos, allowing AEK to bring the deficit between the two clubs down to six points.

The “Trifylli” recorded a 1-1 away stalemate with the Nikaia outfit on Thursday morning (AEDT) in the 14th round of the Greek Super League, suffering a late equaliser to see the Greens drop points for only the second time this season.

The league leaders went ahead 14 minutes in when playmaker Bernard smashed the ball into the net following a save from goalkeeper Lefteris Choutesiotis.

Ionikos midfielder Aias Aosman stepped up for the hosts with a low-driven strike into the bottom right (84′), rescuing a point in the process.

PAOK sealed a 0-2 away success against Panetolikos on Friday morning to go outright third on the ladder.

The Thessaloniki club took the lead just before half time via striker Nelson Oliveira’s header from a free kick delivery (45+5′) before midfielder Douglas Augusto secured the win with a strike in the 86th minute through an attack he himself started.

Atromitos held onto a narrow 0-1 away triumph, thanks to a phenomenal long-range volley into the bottom left from midfielder August Erlingmark (43′).

AEK earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lamia on Thursday morning at Agia Sophia Stadium, guided chiefly by a brace from super sub Tom Van Weert.

The Dutch frontman headed in Petros Mantalos’ cross to bag his first (67′), with teammate Levi Garcia doubling their lead through a quick counter-attack which saw him dribble around the keeper and finish the ball into an empty net (88′).

Van Weert found another header goal in the dying minutes of the match to close out a rampant second half for Enosi (90+4′).

Olympiacos fell victim to a Giannina comeback which saw them settle for a 2-2 away draw.

The Piraeus giants went into the break two goals ahead following a double from playmaker Kostas Fortounis, first via a slightly deflected strike from inside the box (34′) and second through an excellent free kick into the left side (45′).

The Epirus team came out firing in the second period and eventually broke through after a brilliant long shot from winger Giorgos Pamlidis into the bottom left corner (64′).

Midfielder Angelos Liasos then scored a sliding tap-in from close range, set up by a well-driven ball across goal from forward Ahmad Mendes Moreira, to complete a remarkable turnaround for the hosts (76′).

Aris salvaged a 1-1 away draw with Levadiakos in what could have been an immensely disappointing loss for the yellow and black club.

The home side went in front after midfielder Stephen Kwabena Hammond released a stunning effort from range which sailed into the top right corner (38′).

Aris responded with their own fantastic equaliser, with substitute forward Luis Palma scoring a magnificent free kick from the left that soared into the top right (64′).

Asteras Tripolis and Volos played out a scoreless draw in the only match of the round not to feature a goal.
